Gender Review

The Bhutan for Life Project pursues Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) to finance the sustainability and long-term protection of Bhutan's protected areas and biological corridors, covering 19 Protected Areas and Biological Corridors spanning more than 50% of the country. This review examined the gender mainstreaming dimension of the project's implementation.

Outcomes

We delivered the following solutions to ensure compliance:

Reviewed the extent to which relevant gender issues were raised in the project design.
Reviewed the Gender Action Plan indicators against progress made towards end-of-project targets, using the Progress Towards Results Matrix.
Reviewed management arrangements, work planning, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, reporting and institutional structure, and provided recommendations on the way forward.
